Presiding Bishop J. Drew Sheard, Jurisdictional Prelate of the Michigan North Central Jurisdiction, Chairman of the Michigan and Canadian Council of Bishops, and the Senior Pastor of Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church Of God In Christ (COGIC), is the eighth in succession, Presiding Bishop.

Bishop Sheard’s rise to the leadership of the largest Pentecostal denomination in the United States has been a lifelong journey marked by more than 30 years of excellence in leadership in the national church. His character and track record demonstrate that he is honorable in life, steadfast in work, and obedient to God’s call.
An innovative and charismatic churchman, he has been married to the iconic, Lady Karen Clark Sheard for 37 years and together they have two children (Kierra Sheard Kelley (Jordan) and J. Drew) and two grandchildren. Bishop Sheard’s love for his family, the Church of God in Christ, and all people are constant and help drive his passion for ministry.
