On February 23, 2021, Bishop J. Drew Sheard, Jurisdictional Prelate of the Michigan North Central Jurisdiction, Chairman of the Michigan and Canadian Council of Bishops, and the Senior Pastor of Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church Of God In Christ (COGIC) was again elected to the General Board of the Church Of God In Christ and then subsequently elected as the eighth in succession, Presiding Bishop of the 6 million-member predominantly African American Pentecostal Holiness reformation with congregations in more than 112 countries.

This celebration gala honoring Bishop Sheard and his leadership will also benefit COGIC Charities, the philanthropic arm of the Church of God In Christ that offers scholarships and aid to humanity during times of natural disasters and throughout the global pandemic.
